Weight Loss – Month 4

With the beginning of April I have officially crossed over into month 5 of my quest to loose weight. So far, I have persevered through the holidays, a ski vacation, my brother’s wedding and several very nice dinners. I won’t say that it’s been easy but truthfully it hasn’t been as hard as I first thought.

I took my monthly measurements this morning and last month I lost a total of four inches and six pounds. My current weight is 145. That’s a cumulative weight loss total of 23 pounds.

Sometimes I can’t believe I’ve come this far. Last night, when we went to the gym and I entered my weight into the elliptical I actually had to press the down arrow. Things like that don’t seem like a big deal to most people but for me it was a mini-milestone complete with a little ceremony.

“Look Honey! Watch this!” **face beaming**

The sign of real progress is this: in 10 days Jason and I will be running the Big D Half Marathon. 13.1 miles of pure excruciating pain. I am very confident in our ability to finish and almost as confident in our ability to do so without walking.

A week ago we did a “test” run around White Rock Lake (10 miles) and did it in an hour and a half – no walking. Though there wasn’t much walking to be had the next day either. Ouch!

I think with enough carbo-loading, power bars, Gatorade and the all so important ibuprofen we will be just fine. The real question is: who is going to drive home? I guess we’ll find out later.

I’m sure we will have some pictures to share!
