Marathon Update #2

Yesterday, I had my 18 mile long run. Though this isn’t the peak of my training I still feel like it’s an accomplishment worth blogging about. It capped off a 46 mile week, further than I ever thought I would run.

I am a little stiff today. My shins are a little sore and my calf muscles are super tight. Today I will focus re-hydrating and resting my legs as much as possible. There are ice packs in my future. Lots of ice packs.

I have 6 weeks until the race. This week is an easy step down week. Thank goodness. Next week I have a 20-miler. Then a step-down. Then the longest run of 22 miles. Then its taper time!!! If I can get through two more long weeks then I hopefully will be home free!
