It’s over! Finished!

Seven months ago today, I sat at my computer in our dining room and I was lost. Despite being skinny almost all my life for the first time I was legitimately fat…and I wasn’t going to take it any longer.

I didn’t do Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, Atkins or South Beach. I just followed the tried and true Move More, Eat Less Plan. I set a goal of 125 pounds and gave myself a deadline, June 30.

Did it work? Absolutely!

WEIGHT: 168 lbs to 131.4 lbs
BODY FAT: 36% to 27%
BMI: 28.0 to 21.8
CHEST: 36.5″ to 34.4″
SMALL OF WAIST: 33″ to 27.25″
LARGE OF WAIST: 39.75″ to 33.5″
HIPS: 43″ to 36.5″
ARM: 12.25″ to 10.5″
UPPER THIGH: 26″ to 22.5″
LOWER THIGHS: 21″ to 17.5
CALVES: 15.5″ to 13.5″

I lost a total of 31.25″ and 36.6 pounds! Not, the original 43 pounds that I had hoped but as the diet progressed I realized that a weight of 125 pounds wasn’t a very realistic goal, especially if I planned on having any muscle whatsoever.

I would show you a “before” picture but honestly, it embarrasses me. So, if you want to see a “before” picture (I don’t know why you would) then you can search back through my blog to the post titled “A December Resolution” on December 1, 2009 and you can see it. It’s still there.

Actually, I’m not really finished at all. I’d like to get down to 128 (another 3.4 pounds). That will put me at an even 40 pound weight loss, which honestly sounds a lot cooler than 36.6, and will help me shrink the little pooch around my belly button and on my hips.

But, I’m done here. I’m done measuring myself, posting photos and giving updates. I am closing this chapter of my life. It’s over!

Despite my recent success, and the title of this blog post, this isn’t really over and it never will be. Loosing the weight was, without a doubt, the hardest part but keeping it off and not letting myself fall back into bad habits will be a life-long journey. I look forward to it.
